Contributor Checklist

This checklist is a compact set of steps to run before publishing content to the public GitHub mirror or merging changes into main.

Code quality

• Run pre-commit hooks locally: pre-commit run --all-files.
• Run pre-push hooks locally: pre-commit run --all-files --hook-stage pre-push.

Privacy & data publication

• Verify that any dataset included is synthetic or fully anonymized.
• If using external data, ensure explicit written permission exists.
• Remove or redact local filepaths and credentials from notebooks and scripts.
• Record dataset publication approval in data-publication-audit.md if applicable.

Notebooks & examples

• Convert notebooks with private data to a minimal reproducible example that uses synthetic or sample data where possible.
• Provide instructions to obtain private data out-of-band if necessary.

CI & badging

• Ensure the GitLab CI pipeline passes for private tests and jobs.
• Confirm public GitHub Actions CI jobs that run on the public repo are passing for mirrored content.

Mirroring steps (what to include on GitHub)

• Include: generic library code, synthetic example data, fully anonymized datasets, and documentation.
• Exclude: private datasets, credentials, and code that cannot run without private resources.
